Brief Description
Indication
Indicated for the treatment and prophylaxis of Sodium Chloride deficiency.
Administration
The tablet should be swallowed whole with water and not chewed.
Adult Dose
8-16 tablets per day. For treatment dosage to be adjusted to individual needs up to a maximum of 40 tablets per day in case of severe salt depletion. For control of muscle cramps during routine maintenance hemodialysis usually 20-32 tablets per dialysis. In some cases of chronic renal salt wasting up to 40 tablets per day may be required with appropriate ¬fluid intake.
Child Dose
The dosage should be adjusted The dosage for children is determined by their weight and condition. It is typically calculated as 10 to 20 mg/kg of body weight per day, divided into two to three doses.
Renal Dose
Sodium Chloride should be avoided if you have kidney disease or are taking kidney disease medications . Consult with doctor.
Contraindication
It should not be used in patients who are Hypersensitivity to sodium chloride. If patients have any of the following health problems, consult with doctor before using this medication: kidney problems, heart problems (such as heart failure), high blood pressure, any other condition that requires a salt-restricted diet.
Mode of Action
Sodium and chloride -major electrolytes of the fluid compartment outside of cells (i.e., extracellular) -work together to control extracellular volume and blood pressure. Disturbances in sodium concentrations in the extracellular fluid are associated with disorders of water balance.
Precaution
Stop using sodium chloride and call your doctor at once if you have stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or swelling in your hands or feet. Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather

Interaction
Chronic renal failure in hypertensive patients Sodium Chloride, 300 mg tablet may reduce the efficacy of antihypertensive drugs.
